Ca' dal Frol
what we offer
We offer rooms with bathroom en suite, immersed in the Emilian countryside, a few steps from the most important attractions of the area, such as the medieval castle or the Ferrari museum.
Breakfast is plentiful and varied, with both sweet and savory homemade specialties, prepared with quality ingredients. We offer alternatives for celiacs, allergic or intolerant, upon notice.
For lunch or dinner you can use the common equipped kitchen. If you prefer to taste the specialties of the Emilian cuisine, we can recommend many excellent alternatives nearby.
In respect of other tenants, it is forbidden to smoke, and to organize parties or invite outside people inside the B&B.
Unfortunately we cannot welcome our four-legged friends.
Upon reservation and at an extra cost, we also have a private shuttle service to/from airports, train stations, or any other transport need.
WHO ARE WE?
My name is Elisa, I am your "host", and the B&B is my lifelong dream. I studied languages and I love traveling and reading. I lived in France, Ireland and New Zealand. I mainly work as a part time teacher and a mother, but while in Christchurch I opened a school of Italian cuisine, using my grandmother’s recipes.
Stefano is my husband and travel companion. He supports my projects and although his work forces him to be in an office most of the time, his real passion is permaculture and gardening. He takes care of the "Food Forest" and the "Wood" project.
Isabella is our eldest daughter. She studies languages, reads a lot, loves to write and she created this website and took care of the graphics.
Giulio, our stress reliever, is the youngest in the family. He also likes to read and take photographs...even the ones you see on the website.
the b&b
Ca' dal Frol was an old stable, once surrounded by a huge orchard that fed several families, and gave shelter to couples in love (hence the name Ca' dal Frol, “house of flirting”, in Formiginese dialect).
Stefano’s grandfather took it over from the old owners, because he was interested in the land. Unfortunately, nothing remained of the orchard.
When we returned from New Zealand, we began to think about where we wanted to settle, and the "Frullo", with its quiet and nature, very much reminded us of the "Middle Earth" that we had just left. We demolished the stable and rebuilt it in wood and green building.... and we started planting trees again.
We left the top floor "free" to allow me to realize my dream: a B&B.
